Tile Panels

A hand painted tile mural has a high impact in a kitchen or bathroom, making the whole room the ultimate luxury. When the tile panel includes portraits of your pets, your house or a favourite landscape, it becomes magical. Typically, snapshots of your dogs, your terrace and your garden can be combined to make a delightful and very personal tile picture to go behind your cooker. Alternatively you might prefer a picture of your favourite holiday destination or a number of flower portraits, picking out the colours for the décor of your bathroom. Add some scatter tiles to increase the impact of the focal point and the theme is carried around the whole room. The choice is yours.

Unlike many of the producers of hand painted tiles, Pet China does not use transfers, standard designs or printed drawings. Each commission is fully bespoke, created to your specification and reflecting your individual taste and lifestyle. Your participation in the creation of your tile mural is very much welcomed and results in a design that is completely your own.

Sometimes several small panels of two or four tiles are even more effective than one big one, or the additional single tiles scattered around the room draw the eye to a central tile picture. Size, shape and subject matter are immaterial to pet China and these details can be agreed at the time of commission. Commissions can be undertaken on our standard 15cm x 15cm white tiles or on tiles you choose and provide yourself.

Framed Tile

A 6 inch square tile (15cm) which provides plenty of space for an accurate pet portrait, set in a 2 inch (4.5cm) wooden frame, making the whole picture 8 inches square (19.5cm). your choice is whether the portrait is of the whole animal or only a head study. Pet China turns a simple snap shot into a portrait to cherish.

Trinket Box

A 3 inch (8.5cm) bone china box, suitable for jewellery on your dressing table, paper clips on your desk or pills in your bathroom. A pet portrait – either full bodied or a head study – on the lid and a delightful pattern of paw prints in real gold around the edge make this a charming memento or a highly acceptable gift.

Portrait Plate

A 10.5 inch (27cm) bone china plate makes an ideal surface for a pet portrait, either full-bodied or just a head, and the rim of pure gold sets it off beautifully. There is plenty of space in which to create of faithful likeness and the pet’s name can be included if desired.

Cork Trivet

The Pet China 6 inch (15cm) square tile may be inserted into a cork trivet for use as a heat resistant mat. The pet portrait is both practical and pretty, and the tile itself can be removed for washing in the dishwasher if necessary. If the portrait is too precious to be covered by a hot dish or by the kettle, it can be stood on its side and be used as a picture.

Coffee Mug

A bone china 3.5 inch (9cm) coffee mug decorated with a hand painted pet portrait and a colourful rim, is something exceptionally personal. To bring a little ‘home’ into your workplace or to give as a very special gift, a Pet China mug is the ultimate in both useful and indulgent. Because mugs are fired in the kiln, they are both microwave and dishwasher safe.

Tankard

The tankard measures 5 inches (12.5cm) high and will take a full pint, for the beer drinker in the family. It is also useful as a vase or simply as a decorative item on a shelf or mantle piece. Pet China tankards are usually hand painted all the way around, either with a number of family pets or with a landscape, which is relevant to the breed of cat, dog of horse. A Springer spaniel might warrant the margin of a pond with ducks and geese, while a Siamese cat might share the space with oriental pagodas and gardens. Gold rims complete the intricate decoration and of course, the tankards are dishwasher-able.

Clock

The fully functioning 10.5 inch (26cm) clock is made from a bone china plate and deserves a place of honour in the home. From a handful of ‘happy snaps’ a row of portraits in different poses decorate the edge while one special picture is hand painted into the centre. The pet’s name may be included in the decoration. Choosing the right pictures can best be achieved after discussion on the telephone, so that the finished clock accurately reflects the character of the animal.

Memorial Urn

Sadly, the moment comes to us all when we need a suitable place for a faithful pet’s ashes. The Pet China memorial urn is this and more. In fine bone china, it has a portrait of your pet on one side and room for names, dates and perhaps a special verse or message on the other. The urn and its lid are decorated in real gold – something fine to remember happy days.

Octagonal Bowl

An elegant eight-sided fruit bowl, measuring 8.5 inch (21cm). This gives space for four portrait studies – either on the inside or the outside. It can also include some other form of decoration, such as ivy leaves or flowers. This additional design and the placement of the little portraits are for you to choose, making this is a very personal treasure.

Dog Bowl

For the pet who has everything, a very special bowl for food or water. Made from heavy duty French porcelain, the bowl is almost impossible to break, even by the most enthusiastic of canines. It is suitable for both the dishwasher and the microwave. With his portrait on the inside, his name can be painted on the outside or we can even paint ‘His Name ONLY’ or perhaps ‘His Breed ONLY’ or simply the words FOOD or WATER. As always with Pet China, the choice of the lettering and colour is up to you, which makes the bowl as individual as you are.
